- 2 cans hominy, drained (15 oz each)
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup milk
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup (10 oz) (Make sure it’s halal-certified)
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- to taste salt and pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika (optional) (For a smoky flavor)
- 1 cup crushed tortilla chips (For topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine drained hominy, 1 ½ cups cheddar cheese, sour cream, milk, cream of mushroom soup, chopped onion, garlic powder, onion powder, and season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Mix everything until well combined.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of cheddar cheese on top, followed by your crushed tortilla chips.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until bubbly and golden on top.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
