Description

A simple and delicious seared scallops recipe with a lemon-garlic sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh scallops
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Rinse the scallops under cold water and pat them dry thoroughly with paper towels.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the butter and olive oil until melted and shimmering.
  3. Place the scallops in the hot pan without overcrowding. Sear for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  4. Once browned, add minced garlic to the pan and cook briefly until fragrant.
  5. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the scallops before removing from heat.
  6. Plate immediately and garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

  • Ensure that the scallops are patted dry for a better sear.
  • Do not overcrowd the pan to achieve a nice golden crust.
  • Herbs such as parsley or cilantro can enhance the dish when garnished.
