This moist and delicious chocolate banana bread is perfect for using up ripe bananas. It’s rich, chocolatey, and a family favorite!

- 3 ripe bananas (mashed)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1/4 cup melted butter (or coconut oil)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth but slightly chunky.
- In another bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar. Add in eggs, vanilla extract, and mashed bananas; mix well.
- Sift in flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir gently until just combined; do not overmix.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let it cool before slicing.
Notes
- This bread is best enjoyed on the same day it’s baked, but can be stored for up to 3 days in an airtight container.
- For an extra touch, sprinkle some chocolate chips on top before baking.
