  • 4 medium boneless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon sweet paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Dry the chicken breasts with paper towels, ensuring they are completely moisture-free to achieve a perfect sear.
  2. On a cutting board, gently pound the thick end of the chicken breasts with the palm of your hand until evenly thick.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Sprinkle the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the chicken.
  5. In a large pan over medium-high heat, add the olive oil. Allow it to get hot, shimmering slightly before adding chicken.
  6. Add the chicken to the pan, cooking for 3-4 minutes until the bottom side is dark golden brown.
  7. Turn the heat down to medium and flip the chicken. Continue to cook for another 6-8 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  8. Once cooked, let the chicken rest for a few minutes to retain its juices before slicing.
