Description

A hearty and flavorful skillet dish combining lean ground beef and sweet potatoes, perfect for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) lean ground beef
  • 2 medium (approx. 500g) sweet potatoes, peeled and diced small
  • 1 (approx. 150g / 1 cup) onion, diced
  • 1 (approx. 150g / 1 cup) bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) beef broth
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Cook until fully browned, then drain excess fat.
  2. Add the diced sweet potatoes, onion, and bell pepper to the skillet. Stir in the garlic powder, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper, cooking for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the beef broth. Bring to a gentle simmer, then reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 10–12 minutes, or until the sweet potatoes are tender.
  4. Uncover the skillet and cook for 2 more minutes over medium-high heat to let any remaining liquid reduce and flavors concentrate. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  5. Garnish generously with fresh parsley and serve warm.
